The Great Goddess Sekhmet

Photograph I took in May 2014 of 'The Great Sekhmet' - Lion headed goddess of healing (1370 BC) Housed perfectly in the 'Enlightenment' collection of the British Museum. Black granodiorite. Probably from the French excavations in the Temple of Mut, Luxor or from the excavations of Henry Salt.
Be sure to visit Room 1 of the British Museum which has a wonderful collection of not just ancient Egyptian antiquities but interesting artefacts from all over Europe and the Americas.
